About this worksheet

This 9 times table worksheet has 30 problems and fits on a single US Letter page. It is aligned to Common Core standard 3.OA.C.7 and is typically used in 3rd Grade. The problems are generated randomly each time you click New problems, so students can practice the same skill repeatedly without memorizing a fixed sheet.

Need something slightly different? Open Customize above to change the number of problems, the number ranges, or the layout. The link in your address bar updates as you go, so you can bookmark or share the exact worksheet you made.

Tip for this table

Use the finger trick: hold up ten fingers and fold down the one you are multiplying by. The fingers left and right of it are the tens and ones. For 9 × 1 through 9 × 10, the digits of each answer add up to 9.

Teaching tips for multiplication

  • Learn the tables in an easy order: 0, 1, 2, 5 and 10 first, then 3, 4, 9, 11, and finally 6, 7, 8 and 12.
  • Use timed drills sparingly; accuracy first, speed later. Have students track their own score over several days.
  • Point out the commutative property: 7 × 8 is the same as 8 × 7, which halves the facts to memorize.
  • Before multi-digit multiplication, make sure students can multiply by 10 and 100 and know their facts fluently.

Frequently asked questions

Are these worksheets really free?

Yes. Every worksheet on Sheetsprout is free to print for home, homeschool and classroom use, with no sign-up. We also sell optional printable workbooks that bundle sequenced practice into one PDF.

Do the worksheets come with answer keys?

Yes. Use "Print with answer key" to print the worksheet followed by its answer key, or "Answer key only" to print just the answers.

Can I print different versions of the same worksheet?

Yes. Click "New problems" to generate a fresh set. Each sheet has a number printed in the corner; the link in your address bar always reproduces that exact sheet, so you can share it or print it again later.

How do I save a worksheet as a PDF?
